Memorial Ceremony Held

(Michelle Benjamin)
December 5, 2001

More than 130 people attended the annual Onondaga County Bar Association memorial observance in honor of the members of the Bar Association who died during the year, which was conducted at the Courthouse on Tuesday, December 4, with Honorable Charles T. Major, Justice of the Supreme Court, presiding. Rabbi Evan S. Shore, Young Israel-Shaarei Torafi, led the prayer of remembrance. Michael A. Klein, OCBA President, introduced Past President George H. Lowe, who led the observance on behalf of the OCBA. Trumpet soloist, Hon. David E. Peebles, concluded the ceremony.  Following the ceremony, a reception was held for family, friends and members of the bench and bar.

In recognition of these attorneys, the Bar Association Board of Directors has authorized a contribution to the Onondaga Bar Foundation in their memory.  This tradition pays honor to the deceased attorney and helps to further the good works of the Bar Foundation for the law profession’s charitable and education interests.  Others may contribute in like manner.  The 2002 Memorial Ceremony will take place Tuesday, December 3, 2002.
