The Executive Director of the NYS
Judicial Campaign Ethics Center, Laura Smith, will be offering a
short presentation and question-and-answer session about the
resources available to candidates in the upcoming judicial
campaign season on Wednesday, April 11, at noon.
This program is open to anyone who
is considering a campaign for elective judicial office and will
be held at the Onondaga County Courthouse, Room 400.
Video-conferencing will also be available in the fourth floor
Jury Room of the Oneida County Courthouse in Utica.
Ms. Smith will also discuss the
mandatory ethics training requirement, the role of the JCEC, and
the newly created Independent Judicial Qualifications Screening
Committee.
Please RSVP to Donna Evans no later
than April 4 by email to
djevans@courts.state.ny.us or by phone at (315) 671-1100.
This presentation is not the
mandatory Campaign Ethics Training Program that is required for
all candidates for elective judicial office, other than Town and
Village justice positions. Although Town and Village Justices
are exempt from the Campaign Ethics Training Program
requirement, they are welcome to attend both the Q&A session and
the ethics training program.
