The Association's
functions are to foster growth of the science of law,
promote law reform, to facilitate the process of
justice, to maintain high standards of ethics in the
legal profession, and support worthwhile projects.
The governing
body of the Association is its
Board
of Directors, composed of elected officers from
the membership (President; President-Elect; Vice
President; Treasurer; Secretary) and sixteen other
Association members.
In addition to its
regular membership of practicing attorneys, the
Association's By-Laws provide for Honorary members,
Law Student members, and other special members at the
discretion of its board. Membership of the Association
has grown from a little over 100 members at the turn
of the century to a current membership of over 1,500.
