The Volunteer Lawyers Project of Onondaga County, Inc.

Our Mission

The mission of the Volunteer Lawyers Project of Onondaga County, Inc. (VLP) is to expand access to justice by identifying and meeting the unmet civil legal services needs of low income people in Onondaga County through increasing the pro bono participation of the legal community.

What We Do

We work closely with local legal services providers to identify civil legal needs that are not able to be met by those organizations. Then we harness the volunteer energies of nearly 400 members of the local legal community to meet those needs.

We provide free legal information, advice, brief service and pro bono legal representation in civil legal matters to qualifying clients.

Our volunteers can help give you the tools and know-how to be equal participants in our legal system.

VLP is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to provide legal services to the low-income community: make a tax-deductible donation to support our services.
