Two Onondaga County Bar Association Committees/Sections are offering the opportunity to make holiday 2018 and the New Year bright for local families. OCBA members have two ways to donate to help brighten the end-of-year holiday season for our fellow citizens.
The Paralegals Committee sponsors a PEACE, Inc. family this holiday. Nellie, a 70-year-old grandmother is raising her three grandchildren who’re all under the age of 11. Click HERE to learn more about Timothy (2), Teiona (9), and Tiana (11) and what would make them happy this Christmas.
The Community Engagement Committee is collecting toiletries and household cleaning products on behalf of those served by Operation Soap Dish. This worthy charity seeks to fill the gap left in the SNAP program that prohibits the purchase of those various and sundry and downright necessary personal items that Food Stamps won’t cover. Appropriate items collected include things such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, soap, shampoo, shaving cream, razors, lotions, powder, feminine hygiene products, diapers, cleansing cloths, toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, sponges, cleaning brushes, household cleaners (e.g., Windex, Ajax, Lysol, etc.). You know – the stuff that makes life just a bit easier!
Items will be collected at the Onondaga County Bar Association offices and also at the Annual Holiday Reception on December 5th – Click HERE to register for that FUN event!
