We cordially invite the local law community to celebrate Law Day 2016 on Tuesday, May 3rd.
This year’s theme is Miranda: More than Words and celebrates the impact Miranda v. Arizona has had on the American justice system.
Law Day returns to the former Hotel Syracuse, now known as Marriott Syracuse Downtown, in the elegant Persian Terrace.
WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM FORMAT:
7:30 a.m. Law Day Breakfast at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown with fare by Karen’s Catering. Featured speaker will be Court of Claims Judge/Acting Supreme Court Justice the Hon. John J. Brunetti.
9:15 a.m. Bell Ringing Ceremony at the Onondaga County Courthouse, including installation of OCBA officers, Liberty Bell Award, student contest winners and breakfast raffle winners announced.
10:00 a.m. Criminal, County & Federal Courthouse Tours and Presentations by public officials.
Many community members will be recognized at these events. Among them are the Onondaga County Mock Trial champions from Fayetteville-Manlius High School who, after claiming the Regional Championship title Saturday, April 16, are on their way to the State Championships in Albany May 15 through 17.
New this year is a raffle for professionals in attendance at the breakfast.The breakfast ticket will serve as an entry for prizes which include:
