This seminar focuses on discharge updates and changing military records. Specifically, this CLE covers the basics of procedure and substantive law surrounding the Discharge Review Boards and the Boards for Correction of Military/Naval Records.
This CLE gives guidance on how best to present arguments to the Boards and what types of evidence can assist clients to be successful. This CLE also covers how to identify mitigating factors, especially with clients who suffer from traumatic brain injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Yelena Duterte, Esq. is the Director of the Syracuse University College of Law Veterans Legal Clinic. Duterte supervises student attorneys representing clients before the Department of Veterans Affairs, Discharge Review Boards, and Boards of Correction for Military Records. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois and New York.
Chantal Wentworth-Mullin, Esq. is currently the Legal Fellow at the Wohl Family Veterans Legal Clinic at the Syracuse University College of Law. As a fellow, Chantal regularly provides outreach services in Oneida County and assists Clinic students who represent veterans and their families in pursuit of discharge upgrades, VA healthcare, and VA benefits, including compensation, GI Bill benefits, and pension benefits. She is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, Michigan, and New York.
